HopscotchMaps — Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 2, 2026

This document is the privacy policy for the HopscotchMaps app registered with the Pinterest Developer Platform (app: Hopscotchmaps_prod). It describes how the app handles data accessed through the Pinterest API.

HopscotchMaps is a small, single-owner shop selling personalized playground map posters, sold via Etsy: https://hopscotchmaps.etsy.com. This policy covers the Pinterest integration only — it does not replace or modify Etsy’s own privacy policy, which governs purchases made on Etsy.com.

What the app does

The HopscotchMaps app connects to a single Pinterest business account (the HopscotchMaps account) via OAuth 2.0 and uses the Pinterest API to create and manage Pins and boards that promote HopscotchMaps products and link back to our Etsy listings. It is a personal marketing tool for one account, not a multi-user or public-facing service.

Data we access

Through Pinterest’s API, and only for the HopscotchMaps Pinterest account, the app may access:

What we don’t do

Storage and security

OAuth tokens are stored locally in a private, non-public configuration file and are never committed to source control or shared with third parties. Only the HopscotchMaps operator has access to them.

Data retention

Tokens are retained only as long as needed to operate the integration. If the Pinterest connection is disconnected or the app’s access is revoked, stored tokens are deleted and no further API calls are made.

Children’s privacy

This app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will be reflected directly in this document.
